Celebrating Daughters’ Day 2026: Nourishing Dreams, Empowering Futures On 27 September 2026, Waste Pickers Welfare Foundation (WWF) celebrates Daughters’ Day by recognizing the dreams, creativity and potential of every girl. This day reminds us that every daughter deserves love, respect, good health, education and equal opportunities to shape her future.
A Day of Learning, Nutrition and Creativity As part of today’s community activity at WWF, children came together for a programme focused on nutrition and learning. The activity created an opportunity for children to explore different food items, understand the importance of nutritious food and participate in a welcoming learning environment.
The children also expressed their creativity through drawing and other learning activities. Every child deserves an environment where they can learn, ask questions, express themselves and feel encouraged.
Why Nutrition Matters for Every Girl Good nutrition plays an important role in a child’s growth, learning and overall well-being. Families and communities can support children by encouraging balanced meals, healthy food habits and access to appropriate health services.
For girls, access to nutritious food and healthcare is an important part of ensuring that they can grow, learn and participate fully in everyday life.
Education Builds Confidence and Opportunity Education gives girls the knowledge and confidence to explore their interests and make informed choices. Yet children from low-income and vulnerable communities may face barriers such as financial hardship, household responsibilities and limited access to learning resources.
WWF works with communities to support children’s learning and help families recognize the value of education. Through learning activities, digital literacy and community engagement, we aim to create opportunities for children to develop their skills and confidence.
Every Daughter Deserves the Freedom to Dream A girl’s future should not be limited by stereotypes or her family’s financial circumstances. Whether she dreams of becoming a teacher, doctor, artist, entrepreneur or pursuing another path, she deserves encouragement and the opportunity to learn and grow.
Supporting daughters means listening to them, respecting their choices, protecting their well-being and ensuring that they have access to education and opportunities.
